Among the many things any wonderful industry or role can teach us, the fire service serves a unique lesson from the relationship of the leadership and personnel.

It’s not bias. The factual structure is highly unique even among other uniformed services. You see, the officers are not separated from the non-commissioned personnel. And as a matter of fact, they are looked to as the head of the family life as much as the operational performance. Why is that such a big deal? some ask. Those who don’t are probably tactical operators, veterans, or C-suite executives. Each of them will fully acknowledge these valuable growth moments.
