Moving Them On– Risk Aversion
Often it falls to the mentor to move people on to the next step. A lot of time that’s our job—creating the opportunity and environment, but also instilling the vision and possibility. But sometimes moving on comes in a more unplanned way, and can even be a bit difficult for a mentor. Sometimes the next step is simply moving to another mentor before moving on.
One line I removed that sounded a little cheesy the way I said it, but I mean it– when it is time for them to move on, let them know you not only support it, you’re a fan of it.
